At what rpm's do you launch your TSX

I just went to the dragstrip last week. They were only running the 1/8 mile. Anyway, after waiting forever in line, I made one run. At the line, I set the revs at around 3500 and took off. The TSX bogged big time. I shifted at redline and was midway into third at the end of the 1/8 mile. My run was a slow 10.75 @ 66 mph. Has anyone else gone to the tracks and if you did, what is the ideal rev range to avoid bogging, yet not so high that you damage the car.

The TSX tranny is pretty strong, and there is no way that you are going to put down enough power off the line to damage the drive shafts so I would not worry about damaging the car.

I'm going to Bandimere with my TSX on the 22nd of this month so I'll know my times then. When I'm running late to school I launch the car from about 3500 and drag the clutch a little longer than normal to get the car closer to high cam (4500 RPM) where there is more TQ and it does not bog. Probly not the nicest thing I could do to my clutch but who cares? - I drive the car as it's supposed to be driven.

Strictly from your story about being half way thru 3rd at the end of 1/8 you might think about short shifting 2nd (shifting before redline, at say 6600 or so). Hondata would be your best bet since you could have the higher rev limit and lower vtec engagement so you never come off high cam when shifting at redline. Just an idea. :)
